DENARII is smoke, sandalwood, skin after conquest. The scent of return — ecstatic in it’s arrival, and then cooling off to a smoky linger.
Its name comes from the denarius, the silver coin that bankrolled empire. Minted in the 3rd century BC. A soldier’s pay. A general’s boast. Passed through battlefields, markets, bedrooms. The coin that bought loyalty — and betrayal.
For the box, I chose three coins that carry the final story of Egypt: Antony, Cleopatra, Octavian. The triangle that rewrote Rome.

At the top, Cleopatra — profile sharp, gaze unflinching. The true axis of history, the queen who turned alliance into seduction, seduction into empire. Beneath her, Antony — the general undone by ambition and love. At the base, Octavian — the patient heir, watching, calculating, waiting for them both to fall.
Stacked this way, the coins aren’t just currency. They’re scandal cast in silver: desire above victory, victory above politics, politics above survival.
DENARII smells of frankincense, patchouli, sandalwood — skin warmed by smoke, devotion laced with danger. A scent of power that always comes home.
