Modern bathing taught us to measure ‘clean’ in the size of the bubbles and to believe that lather equals purity. But foam isn’t what cleans you, surfactants do. However most large foam comes from harsh surfactants that strip the skin’s natural oils, leaving it tight, dry, and in need of repair.
At 39BC, we believe in softness over spectacle. Our shower oils use a milder surfactant to produce low-impact foam - just enough to actually cleanse you, yet never enough to disrupt your skin’s balance. The difference lies in our use of MIPA-Laureth Sulfate instead of SLS. It’s a gentle, water-soluble cleanser that works in tandem with nourishing plant oils to cleanse without over-stripping.

When water touches oil, the formula becomes milk. This milk lifts away sweat and daily dirt. Only with movement does a delicate lather appear - not a giant foam, but a final caress. The skin is left clean, conditioned, and perfumed.

More bubbles doesn’t always mean a better clean. It just means your washing routine might be louder than it needs to be.
