Cultivated across the Mediterranean and Middle East for thousands of years, figs were prized in Ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome as symbols of fertility, pleasure and abundance. Lush, creamy and sun-drenched. The scent of ripened fruit, warm skin and late summer afternoons.
A green resin extracted from flowering plants native to Iran and Central Asia, used in ancient incense and medicinal preparations. Sharp, green and untamed. The scent of crushed stems, morning dew and wild growth beneath your feet.
Derived from the leaves of the violet plant, which became highly fashionable in European perfumery during the 19th century. Cool, metallic and vegetal. The scent of torn leaves, green shade and rain on stone.
Inspired by the Mediterranean flowering plant long associated with ornamental gardens and spring bloom. Dewy, delicate and airy. The scent of pale petals, spring air and soft footsteps in a quiet garden.
Originating in tropical coastal regions across South and Southeast Asia and the Pacific, coconut oil has been used for centuries in hair, skin and bathing rituals. Soft, milky and sweet. The scent of saltwater skin, linen drying in the sun and beachside memories.
Aromatic woods long used in temples, sacred storage chests and ceremonial architecture for their dry, protective scent. Woody, crisp and grounding. The scent of pencil shavings, old trunks and timeless calm.
A resin harvested from Styrax trees in Southeast Asia and traded historically along incense routes into China, India and the Middle East. Warm, golden and enveloping. The scent of ambered resin, honeyed smoke and the slow exhale of ritual.

SWEET ALMOND OIL (PRUNUS AMYGDALUS DULCIS)
A lightweight emollient rich in oleic and linoleic fatty acids, helping to soften, condition and smooth the skin. Almonds have been cultivated across the Mediterranean and Western Asia for thousands of years, with almond oil long used in traditional preparations for the skin and body.
JOJOBA SEED OIL (SIMMONDSIA CHINENSIS)
Technically a liquid wax rather than an oil, jojoba is rich in wax esters that help condition the skin and support its natural barrier while leaving it soft and supple. The jojoba plant is native to the deserts of the southwestern United States and northern Mexico, where Indigenous peoples traditionally used its seeds and oil.
AVOCADO OIL (PERSEA AMERICANA)
A rich emollient oil containing oleic acid and other fatty acids that help nourish, soften and condition the skin. Avocados have an extraordinarily long relationship with humans in the Americas, with archaeological evidence from Honduras showing human use stretching back around 11,000 years and a long process of cultivation and selection.
MACADAMIA SEED OIL (MACADAMIA INTEGRIFOLIA)
A silky emollient oil rich in monounsaturated fatty acids, including oleic and palmitoleic acids, helping to soften and condition the skin while providing a smooth, cushioned feel. Macadamia trees are native to the rainforests of eastern Australia, where their nuts have been gathered and eaten by Aboriginal peoples for generations.
VITAMIN E (TOCOPHEROL)
A naturally occurring antioxidant that helps support skin resilience and protect against environmental stress. The name tocopherol comes from the Greek words tokos and pherein, meaning “to bring forth offspring.”
CARROT ROOT EXTRACT (DAUCUS CAROTA SATIVA)
A botanical extract associated with carotenoids, used in skincare to condition the skin and contribute to a healthy-looking, radiant appearance. The cultivated carrot emerged in western-to-central Asia during the Early Middle Ages; the familiar carotenoid-rich orange carrot was developed much later, probably in Western Europe during the Renaissance.
INGREDIENTS
A blend of plant-based oils, botanical extracts and fragrance materials selected for their sensorial qualities, cultural histories and skin-supporting properties. From nourishing oils rich in essential fatty acids to resins, woods and florals long used in perfumery and ritual, each ingredient contributes to the texture, atmosphere and experience of the formula.
A dry body oil gives you the nourishment and sensuality of a traditional body oil without the heavy, greasy finish.
39BC PERFUMED DRY BODY OIL is exceptionally lightweight and fast-absorbing, leaving skin soft, supple and silky so you can get dressed without waiting around.
No. 39BC PERFUMED DRY BODY OIL is not a shimmer or high-shine glow oil.
Think luminous skin rather than glossy skin: a soft, satin finish without sparkle or a greasy surface.
Both, but the experience is different.
On dry skin, PERFUMED DRY BODY OIL leaves a luminous, soft silk finish.
On freshly washed, damp skin, it transforms into a delicate, weightless emulsion that helps seal moisture into the skin before disappearing into a velvety, dry-touch finish.
Immediately after your bath or shower is our favourite moment.
Massage it over clean skin while your body is still slightly damp, or towel dry first and apply it to dry skin.
It is the final step of the 39BC Bathing Ritual.
No. In fact, we made it for people who don't like body oil.
The lightweight formula absorbs rapidly without the heavy, sticky residue traditionally associated with oils.
Skin feels silky rather than greasy.
No. This is a leave-on body oil, not a cleansing oil.
Massage it into the skin and leave it on.
Yes. The fast-absorbing, dry-touch formula is specifically designed to sink into the skin rather than sit on the surface.
Unlike many traditional body oils that can leave a heavy or greasy layer, 39BC PERFUMED DRY BODY OIL dries down quickly to a soft, silky finish, so you can get dressed without waiting around.
Yes. Apply 39BC PERFUMED DRY BODY OIL to damp skin to help seal in moisture, leaving skin soft and supple.
If your skin is particularly dry, you can also layer it with your usual body moisturiser.
Absolutely. 39BC PERFUMED DRY BODY OIL was designed as another way to wear fragrance.
Wear it alone for a softer, more intimate veil of scent, or apply it before your perfume to layer your fragrance across the body.
PERFUMED DRY BODY OIL creates a scented base across the skin and is designed to be worn alone or layered beneath perfume, adding depth and longevity to your fragrance ritual.
Think of it as a veil of fragrance rather than a cloud.
The scent sits closer to the body than a traditional perfume spray, making it intimate enough to wear alone while also providing a beautiful base for fragrance layering.
The formula contains Sweet Almond Oil and Macadamia Seed Oil.
Customers with known allergies should review the full ingredient list before use.
The formula contains fragrance and naturally occurring fragrance allergens, so if your skin is particularly sensitive, patch testing before first use is sensible.
